On August 28, 2019, we celebrated breaking ground on our new state-of-the-art building in Loves Park, Illinois. This new location will have over 50,000 square feet of office, warehouse, and manufacturing space. Construction includes high exposed ceilings, glass walls, display area for products, high speed overhead doors, and designed for a future 40,000 square foot expansion. Among the attendees were employees, the Loves Park mayor Greg Jury, Ringland Johnson, and Rockford Chamber representatives.
Increasing efficiency
Owners Bob Chanson and Bruce Vorel spoke thanking the employees who helped made this happen and on what benefits the new facility will bring. The biggest impact that bringing the 4 locations and over 100 employees together under one roof is efficiency. “The type of business we’re in requires a lot of collaboration between sales, creative and production. Consolidating into one location make this process efficient, creating a better experience for the customer.” says vice president, Bruce Vorel. Co-owner and president, Bob Chanson added. “Having everyone under one roof creates streamlined and fluid manufacturing moving up production time for our customers.”
Bringing growth to the region
The new facility is being built in the quickly growing area in Loves Park adjacent to the I90 corridor. Owners believe this is the idyllic location for the building because not only does it allow visibility but ideal accessibility. “The location near I90 is easily accessible for distribution going in and out helping the from production to customer process to move even faster.” said Bob Chanson. The Loves Park Mayor, Greg Jury is equally excited about the growth of this area and working with Meridian to create this, saying “When we work with companies like Meridian, they’re so professional and easy to deal with. It’s a great experience!”
The future
Bob and Bruce are thrilled to start the building process and were very clear that Meridian is here to stay in the Greater Rockford Area. “Meridian is in the greater Rockford area to stay. We’ve experienced growth every year not only in sales and customers, but in the types of products and services we can offer. We’re changing with the times because of our customers and employees have allowed us to be in the leading edge in our industry This growth creates more jobs.” – Bruce Vorel
