Meridian expands once again to meet customer demands and keep up with trends in the printing industry. The groundbreaking event will take place on August 28th at 4805 Interstate Blvd. Loves Park, IL 61111 at 10am. The new facility will bring three of their Rockford area locations into one, adding to the company’s capability and efficiency. The building will house over 100 employees as well as provide room for further development. The company has experienced exponential growth in the last couple of years and is ranked one of Promo Magazine’s Fastest Growing Companies as well as on the PSDA’s Fastest Growing Distributors list.

Meridian is widely known as Rockford’s commercial printer, but has added other options to their offerings to help serve businesses as a one stop source for complete brand solutions. Their traditional print services have expanded to include promotional merchandise, branded apparel, commercial signage and displays as well as other impressive brand marketing products, like wide format printing and large-scale projects.

Owners Bob Chanson and Bruce Vorel started the company over 40 years ago in the greater Rockford area. The company adapted its services and products to the area businesses ever-changing needs over the years. “Bob and Bruce were smart enough to keep up with what was selling” says Pete Olson, one of Meridian’s first employees. Owner Bob Chanson tells us “81% of the products we sold 20 years ago do not exist or are a very small segment of our offering. It’s all gone to digital and wide format printing as well as branded merchandise and apparel.”

The new, state-of-the-art building made of pre-engineered metal and pre-cast, will include over 50,000 square feet of office, warehouse, and manufacturing space. Construction includes high exposed ceilings, glass walls, display area for products, high speed overhead doors, and designed for a future 40,000 square foot expansion. The expenditures for the new construction will reach approximately $6,000,000, with the project scheduled to be completed during the spring of 2020. Building this new facility not only creates increased efficiency and productivity by combining all three area offices but leaves space for Meridian to further meet growing industry demands and remain a strong presence for years to come.
